Who is the course for?

This course has been designed to provide the modern professional with effective skills of responses and procedural excellence. The course is suitable for all professionals working within educational establishments across the UK including Primary, Secondary schools, F.E. Colleges and Work Based Learning Providers, 14-19 Learning Network and CareersWales Advisers.

 

Course Overview

The aim of the course is to raise awareness regarding matters that are relevant to the field of emotional literacy and well-being in order to act upon these for the academic, social and emotional well-being of pupils.  Having looked at the background research within this area, delegates will be given the opportunity to learn practical strategies that have been successful and effective in developing the emotional literacy and self confidence of pupils. These elements will ensure that schools develop and nurture the whole child/pupil within their educational establishment.

 

Who delivers this course?

Siriol Burford has been an Assistant Head teacher with responsibility for pupil well-being and social inclusion for 13 years.  Over these years she has created pastoral structures within the school that have now been fully embedded.

Helen Sharkey has worked as an Educational Psychologist for 10 years and specialises in the field of Emotional Literacy.  She has been delivering training within this sector for many years and has advised many schools as they develop structures to support emotional literacy and pupil well being.
