Who is this course for?
This course has been designed to provide the modern professional with effective skills of responses and procedural excellence. The course is suitable for all professionals working within educational establishments across the UK including Primary, Secondary schools, F.E. Colleges and Work Based Learning Providers, 14-19 Learning Network and CareersWales Advisers.

Course Overview
The aim of the course is to raise awareness of the impact stress has upon personal well-being and performance. This course provides realistic and easy to use methods to reduce stress thus improving performance and work life balance. Participants will leave this course with a ‘tool kit’ of personal stress management and reduction tactics to deploy in the work place or at home.
What will you gain from this course?
On completion of the course, the delegates will:
- Have a clear and concise awareness of the impact stress has upon our physical and mental health aswell as our general well-being
- Have a wide range of realistic, easy to use stress reduction tactics and techniques that will improve participants well-being
- Be able to identify, understand and manage personal stress related behavioural ‘triggers’
- Receive coping strategies that will prevent irrational and inappropriate reactions to stressful situations within the school setting
- Develop skills required to assess stressful situations and make the correct response
- Be aware of help and support available within the school /organisation
Why is this course important?
Research by the Health and Safety Executive in 2000 found teaching to be the most stressful profession, with 41.5% of teachers reporting themselves as "highly stressed". The findings of HSE’s research has recently been reinforced in the National Union of Teachers 2011 conference where delegates were informed that stress continues to drive increasing numbers of teachers out of the profession, with some even considering suicide. This course is important as it enables participants to learn new, realistic stress management techniques that will improve personal wellbeing and increase performance.
